MSUrian Duo is National Champion in CIMB ASEAN Stock Challenge 2017
Besting ten other teams from Malaysian public and private universities, Team TA took the winner’s trophy home to Management and Science University (MSU)

A team of two students from Management and Science University (MSU) has emerged the National Champion of the CIMB ASEAN Stock Challenge 2017.
The duo forming Team TA comprises Natasya Syahirah Azman Azif and Ku Muhammad Amin Ku Khalif. Tasya (the ‘T’ in the team name) and Amin (the ‘A’) are both students on the Bachelor in Investment Management (BIVM) programme at the Faculty of Business Management and Professional Studies (FBMP).
Team TA recorded over seventy-nine percent gain, besting ten other teams from a mix of public and private universities to claim the First Prize of USD800, and bragging rights home to Management and Science University (MSU).

The CIMB ASEAN Stock Challenge is an annual competition inviting participation from undergraduates in the ASEAN region.
This year’s challenge presented USD80mil in virtual investment capital for trading across the virtual floor of five major exchanges: Bursa Malaysia, Indonesia’s (IDX), Singapore’s (SGX), Thailand’s (SET), and Hong Kong’s (HKEx).
The competition involving real-time trading on virtual capital runs in two stages, and this year’s edition introduced a mobile application.
In the national round, contestants pit acumen against market intelligence, challenging their knowledge and skills in strategic planning.
The final showdown will compete six regional teams from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, and newcomer Brunei in a presentation of trading strategies to a panel of ASEAN judges.
At the prize-giving ceremony, Team TA emerged the winner twice over when they were announced the country representative to the finals. Their trading strategy had ousted the other two in the top three vying for the honours in the second part of the national round. Team TA of Management and Science University (MSU) will represent Malaysia at the Jakarta Grand Finale mid-January.

The Management and Science University (MSU) Faculty of Business Management and Professional Studies (FBMP) offers foundation, diploma, and degree programmes in the fields of Business Management and Law as well as Accounting and Finance.
